Answer to Commonly Asked Questions
Telehealth is available for patients located in Washington or Oregon during sessions.
Yes, I am currently accepting new clients. Please use the contact form to get started.
My standard session fee is $225/session. I also offer a monthly subscription plan and sliding scale options. See the practice information page for more details.
I'm out-of-network with all insurance providers, so I don't bill insurance directly. Many patients submit for reimbursement on their own — I'll provide a superbill (documentation of our sessions) to make that easier. Check your plan's out-of-network mental health benefits to see what's covered, and see the practice information page for more on fees.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give me at least 48 hours' notice and there's no charge. Life happens — for genuine emergencies, I'm flexible and we'll figure it out case by case. But missed sessions or late cancellations without a good reason are billed in full, since that time is reserved for you specifically.
Every first session looks a little different depending on what brings you in, but generally we'll spend the time getting to know each other — I'll ask about your history and current concerns, and you can ask anything you want about how I work. It's less an intake form and more a real conversation, and it gives us both a sense of whether we're a good fit.
Send me a message through the contact form with your availability and any questions. I respond personally.
No — as a licensed psychologist, I don't prescribe medication. If it comes up as something worth exploring, I'm glad to talk it through with you and coordinate with a prescriber if that's a good next step.
What you share in therapy is confidential. There are a few legal exceptions — if there's risk of serious harm to you or someone else, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order requiring disclosure, I may be required to break confidentiality. I'll walk through this in more detail before we begin working together.
I use a HIPAA-compliant platform for secure communication and administration. Sessions take place by secure video, and I will provide the details you need before your first appointment.
Sessions must take place while you are physically located in Washington or Oregon. (There are some exceptions to this, depending on which state you will be located in.) If you travel, we can schedule around that.
